Wow, great place off the main Gainesville drag. Very close to the Inked Pig if you know of that place. The pupusas were awesome. We tried the pollo, spinach, loca, steak, and the shrimp. All very good. Had the yummy fried crispy cheese pieces. My father had the pollo sandwich which was huge and hella delicious. Everyone definitely needs to hit this place up. Highly recommended!!
Literally such a vibe. A nice little surprise right off the downtown square in Gainesville. The service was amazing. The food was great. We’ll definitely be back.
Excellent! Highly recommend. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff was awesome. I was quickly seated and my order was taken immediately. The Papusas where phenomenal! They have a full menu of Breakfast Lunch and Dinner items with a fully stocked bakery section and a full service bar.
We stopped here on our way thru GA because of all The good reviews. They did not disappoint!!! I got the spinach and bean papusas. Wow! Were they delicious!!! They came with this “slaw” which really put them over the top with crunch and a little tang!! My son ordered the carne asada meal which he said was really delicious and the rice was beans were great!! We also ordered the passion fruit and mango drinks. They were good. A lot of people were ordering a milk drink so we asked our waitress what it was and she said it’s Horchata so we had to get that too. Wow! Was it amazing!!! Similar to chai tea but smoothe and awesome!! Thanks for a great lunch!!
Had #popusas in Reno Nevada when visited our daughter. Always wondered if we can get popusas here in Georgia. Found this place in Gainesville. El Salvador Restaurant THE BEST POPUSAS EVER, Everything is outstanding, fresh, hot and flavors out this world. Our server Cindy very friendly and accommodating. We live in Blairsville Georgia, we go to Gainesville once a month, and this Restaurant is our favorite
I ordered takeout from El Salvador Restaurant and everything was fantastic. I got the pork pupusa, chicken pupusa and tajadas – and I’d definitely recommend the pork pupusa and the tajadas especially. So good. My order was ready quickly, and when I went inside to pick it up, the place was clean, bright and had a really welcoming atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and the prices were very affordable. Great food, great service and a great deal. I’ll definitely be back!
Was looking for something different to eat and came upon this place. Saw the reviews and decided to try it out as I've never had pupusas before.....wow! The high reviews are definitely earned and it shows. The food and service were fantastic and the place has a good vibe to it! ANYTIME I am in the area, I will be going.
Have you had pupusas before? Ultimate comfort food! Gooey cheese and meat or beans wrapped in a savory griddle corn cake! Served with curtido, a cabbage dish that will remind you of a tangy coleslaw, the combination of hot pupusas and crunchy, cool cortido makes all your taste buds jump up and say hi! The empanadas are so delicious. Their fried exteriors were the perfect amount of crispy and soft and the cilantro avocado dip they serve with it is amazing. Just a hint of spice to it - I would put that stuff on everything! I also got a quesadilla for dessert. Salvadoran quesadillas are like a sweet cornbread sprinkled with sesame seeds. Very different from the Mexican quesadilla you encounter elsewhere! For three plump pupusas, cortido, two empanadas and a giant slab of quesadilla, it was only $21 and that was more than enough to feed two people! I'd say the prices are great here too. I spoke to the owner for a while as I waited on my to-go order and she was awesome! So welcoming and definitely knows her Salvadoran cuisine! The place looked great. Plenty of seating, there's a large bakery case of fresh pastries, and cool decorations. You've got to see the awesome patio with colorful umbrellas as a roof! Looking forward to going back on a weekend when I can enjoy some classic cocktails, I hear the margaritas and RumChata is going to be the bomb!
